(August’s perspective)
As I walked into class I heard the whispers lingering beneath the costumes. Their cruel words spilled from their lips like poison.
I saw the eyes of Darth Sidious and two mummies dart towards the door to check for the Boba Fett costume that they were expecting.
I felt my heart sink towards the floor as I recognised Jack's voice. It was like I'd just received an almighty kick in the guts. I felt tears begin to flow down the uneven slits of my eyes.
As I slipped back out the door like a ghost, I wondered if I would ever find someone who truly likes me for me.
